David Arnold | CASINO ROYALE IN CONCERT

On Saturday, September 30th, the Royal Albert Hall will reverberate to the sound of Bond, for on that day David Arnold will host Casino Royale Live. Backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Arnold’s powerful score will be performed in sync with a screening of Daniel Craig’s debut appearance in the role, and the 21st film in the Bond canon.

In a break from last-minute preparations, the Grammy and Emmy award-winning composer took some time to discuss the event, what it’s like to play that iconic theme and collaborating with the late, great Chris Cornell.

STARBURST: So, why Casino Royale?

David Arnold: There’s never been a Bond film performed with a live orchestra before, which makes the occasion very exciting. After Independence Day, just talking with the Albert Hall about doing another one, and knowing how popular these films are still, and how much reach they have,

Daphne Ashbrook's autobiography has been released by Fantom as an audiobook on CD, read by the author herself.

From the press release:

Witty, self-effacing and painfully honest; the themes of life, death and laughter come together as Daphne Ashbrook recounts her many on-and off-screen scrapes with mortality. Packed with rich anecdotes from her career in TV, stage and film, this refreshingly candid and conversational memoir spans a childhood in a theatrical family to pulling back the curtain of Hollywood, revealing the glamour and ridiculousness of a business mired in a struggle between art and profit.

SCANNERS TV Series in Development

In a landscape where so many genre favourite movies are being adapted as small screen series, you can now add David Cronenberg’s Scanners to the list.

As per Deadline, Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res and Bron Studios have picked up the rights to Cronenberg’s iconic 1981 movie, with the plan being to “develop and package the TV series adaptation with a high-end filmmaker and showrunner before shopping it to premium services”.

If you remember back, there were actually plans to adapt Scanners as a TV show back in 2011. At that time, Switchblade Romance’s Alexandre Aja was on board to direct the series. After all went eerily quiet on that

CULT OF CHUCKY

Following 2013’s Curse of Chucky, everyone’s favourite Good Guy is back to cause chaos once more. The question is, is this seventh installment in the famed Child’s Play franchise a worthy entry or merely an attempt to cash-in on an established property in a genre often bereft of new ideas?

Picking up directly after the aforementioned Curse – itself a clever reboot for the series – Cult of Chucky sees Nica (Fiona Dourif) locked up in an asylum for the criminally insane after the
